It was the Perfect Mistake

3 06 2010

This is the year of the Pitcher.  We are now exiting the steroid era and now entering the long-lost time of the pitcher.  Already we have 2 perfect games and 1 no-hitter.  There should have been a perfect game tonight if it wasn’t for the umpire who blew the call.  It was the Perfect mistake.

I have been waiting for this time to come and it is finally here, the year of the pitcher.  I believe pitching will dominate and it has so far in the season.  It is possible also that Ubaldo Jimenez will surpass the record by Bob Gibson of 1.12 ERA, which right now Jimenez is now at .78 ERA, while posting a 10-1 record with the Colorado Rockies.

The Cardinals have a very dominant pitching staff and I believe this is going to be the year.  Cardinals and Twins in seven.  Write it down! Bet on it! it will happen and it will be a great series to tell your children for ages to come!  No I am just kidding but I think it will probably happen, either that or the Rays will play the Cardinals.

Bust right now it will be a battle in the NL Central, with the Cardinals and the Reds.  Scott Rolen is on fire right and can not be stopped unless you want to walk him, which the Cardinals need to do in the future meetings between them.

Jaime Garcia will be the Rookie of the Year and the future ace of the staff with Adam Wainwright.

That is my two cents for now and I will update you on any rant that needs to be said about sports.  I probably will update you on this great rivalry between the Celtics and the Lakers, after game 1.

Immigration & Sports

5 05 2010

Immigration has been such a hot button topic in the last month, that it needs to be brought up again.  The opinion piece in the Montage really hit some good points on this topic.  There are more points that need to be explained.  People are blasting the article because they think it supports slavery and they go on to talk about Mexico becoming the 51st state because they believe we should over take their country, which is kind of ridiculous.  There are some sports that are taking a stand on this issue, even though a lot of people believe this issue is not any different then what we have been doing for the past 30 years.

The Phoenix Suns just announced that tonight during Game 2 of the NBA Finals that they are going to have their jerseys say Los Suns, for Cinco De Mayo and to protest their view on what is going on in their state.

In Major League Baseball, players are talking about boycotting the All-Star game next year, since it is going to be  in Arizona, because they refuse to play in a city that has a strict law like the new immigration law that was passed 2 weeks ago.  A lot of players have come out and gave their strong opinion on why they are against this bill.

All these things could happen.  Why are people saying this is no different, if people are taking so drastic a measure to go against what is happening in Arizona.  Why are their protests going on right now because of the bill?

This doesn’t make sense.  People should be asking theirselves, why am I against the bill?

That is truly the real question, since people are claiming this is unconstitutional and against our own civil rights as a nation.

What is Happening in the world?

14 04 2010

I heard this morning and even some last night when I left the Montage Newsroom that there was a huge earthquake in China, which hit a magnitude of 6.9.  China is the new Haiti.  What is going on in the world.  400 dead people in just a day!!!  In the next couple of weeks there will big stories coming out of China about everyone needs to come and help China and make donations to China.  I am pretty sure there will be big help and everything.  The reason for this is Global Warming.  The world is out-of-order and no one is doing anything about it.  The big issue right now in the United States is the big Health Care bill.  There is a lot of debate around this bill and not enough people putting that energy towards finding new ways to make energy and make the world a better place.  Hopefully this Earthquake is a big reminder of what road our world is heading down and looks like we are hitting a big massive hole in the cave and never getting out of it.

Hmm…Yes Baseball

2 04 2010

Yes Baseball is around the corner.  The Cardinals look like a lock for the Central Division. But…yes but they are picked to make an early exit in the playoffs.  I don’t believe this for one second at all.  They have the 4 best players in baseball, Chris Carpenter, Adam Wainwright, Albert

Cardinal Baseball

, and Matt Holiday.  I believe they will go a lot farther this year, then they did last year.

Their bullpen looks a little scary.  I mean the bad kind of scary.  Ryan Franklin doesn’t look like the same Franklin we saw last year and I am pretty sure he won’t make the All-Star game in Anaheim this summer.  Blake Hawksworth is also a big concern this year and could be a big disappointment in the coming months.

Pitching on the other hand looks amazing.  I think the addition of Jaime Garcia is going to be a great plus for the Cardinals and I expect a great year for him in the 5th spot of the rotation.
